Jennie Horton

“Jennie Horton passed away surrounded by her family on April 19, 2026. She was born in Pomona, California on March 16, 1966 to Annie and Alex Ortiz. Jennie was a Senior Technical Assistant for Pomona Unified School District’s Payroll Department. Jennie was a dedicated and hardworking employee for Pomona Unified School District for 27 years, getting hired on April 7, 1999. Jennie touched the lives of all she knew and was loved by her family, friends, coworkers, and teachers. She was a loving wife to Robert Horton, a beloved mother to Rachel Phelps, Dean Phelps, Jonathon Horton and Michael Jacobs, and an adored grandma to Liam Phelps, Kelby and Brynlee Horton, and an unborn grandson. She was also a beloved sister and aunt. Jennie loved staying home and watching her favorite comfort shows and movies. When she wasn’t watching her shows, she was spending time with her family, spoiling her grandkids, or out on a Target run. She always put others first and her love and selflessness was felt by all. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.”
