June 6, 1942 – December 12, 2025
Natherine Jones Heard passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, at the age of 83, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family.
Born on June 6, 1942, in Homer, Louisiana, Natherine was the daughter of Archibald Jones and Eva Weaver. She accepted Christ at an early age at Saint John Baptist Church. A proud 1960 graduate of Mayfield High School, she went on to attend Grambling University before relocating to California in 1961 to begin a new chapter.
On March 17, 1962, Natherine married the love of her life, Bennie L. Heard Jr. Their union was blessed with three daughters who remained the center of her world.
Professionally, Natherine served as a Reprographics Supervisor for Fluor Daniel for 15 years. She eventually decided to retire from corporate life to focus on her home, her youngest child, and playing a pivotal role in raising each of her grandchildren over the years. Later, she shared her talents seasonally with H&R Block for over a decade.
Natherine was a woman of many passions who lived with a spirit of engagement and fun. She had an infectious love for music, dancing, and "good food." She was an avid domino player, and she spent many happy hours enjoying the competition and camaraderie of the game. Whether she was cheering on her favorite sports teams, watching game shows, following her beloved soap operas or calling to check on everyone several times a day, Natherine found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Above all, she was a generous giver who took immense pleasure in spoiling her family. For the last ten years of her life, Natherine was a familiar face at DaVita Dialysis in Chino. Her family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the DaVita staff for the loving care they provided three times a week for over a decade.
Natherine was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie; her parents, Archibald and Eva; her siblings; and her grandson, Bryan James Edmondson.
Her legacy of love lives on through:
● Her Daughters: Jacqueline Heard-Mike (Muskogee, OK), Veronica Giles (Chino, CA), and Angela Heard-Brown ((Johnny) Chino, CA).
● Her Grandchildren: Jon Mike Jr., Jasmine Newton (Mike), Jessica Mike, Joelle Mike, James L. Giles III, Devin Brown, Danielle Brown, and Maximillion Brown (Fur Grandbaby) .
