Devoted, nurturing mother and grandmother, Virginia went home to be with our Lord on Friday, September 19, 2014. She passed away at her home in Monterey Park, California, from natural causes.
She was born Virginia Ann Petersen on February 7th, 1923, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She came to California and settled in Monterey Park in 1949, where she remained until her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Foglesong; two of her children, Stephanie Lucille and Bernard James; two grandchildren, Marissa Elizabeth and Paul Scott; and two great-grandsons, Esequiel Eduardo and Michael James. She leaves behind five children, Terry Foglesong-Zubiate (Pablo); John Foglesong (Shelley); Cathy Meeter (Jim); Gina Hernandez (Jesse); and Jim Foglesong, 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and her two sisters, Marion Skounborg and Gloria Russell; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
She loved music and sang in the church choir for 25 years. She loved old Hollywood movies and going places with her son, Jim. Above all, she loved her family and devoted her life to them.
