

Warren Thomas Wotring Jr., died January 24, 2020 in Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, Pomona, California. Born July 15, 1927 on his grandfather's farm in Schnecksville, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Warren Thomas Wotring Sr. and Ida (Derhammer) Wotring. He spent his youth performing traditional farming activities and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. Warren graduated from Longswamp Township High School in 1943 and Emmaus High School in 1944. He was an Army veteran serving from 1945 to 1946. Warren attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown and graduated in 1949 with a degree in chemistry. He married Helen Elizabeth Butz of Allentown in 1946 and in 1949 they moved to Cleveland, Ohio where Warren had obtained employment with Standard Oil of Ohio (Sohio). He worked for Sohio for 36 years retiring in 1985 rising to the position of Technology Director of Fuels and Lubes. Warren was a life long reader of biographies, history and non-fiction literature and loved to hike and travel. He participated in company softball and bowling, and enjoyed a good crossword puzzle. His favorite leisure interest was playing cards particularly bridge, where he attained the ranking of Silver Life Master. After the death of his wife Helen in 1994 he lived a single life until 1999 when he married Mary Ann (Deischer) Chamberlain. Mary Ann grew up in Emmaus Pennsylvania but was living in California at the time of their marriage so Warren moved from Cleveland Ohio to Santa Ana, California ultimately living out the rest of his life in Chino Hills, California. Warren was proceeded in death by his first wife Helen, his youngest daughter Joanne Wotring, and great grandson Joshua Morrow. Also proceeding him in death was Lauren (Chamberlain) Maher. Warren is survived by his wife Mary Ann, daughter Connie Ann (Wotring) Sauvinsky of Parma, Ohio, son Warren Thomas Wotring lll and his wife Roxena of Phonix, Arizona son Brent Chamberlain and wife Monica of Chino Hills, California daughter Vicki (Chamberlain) Smithwa and husband Robert of Laguna Niguel, California, son Brad Chamberlain of Anaheim Hills, California, sister Shirley (Wotring) Neeb of Reading, Pennsylvania, sister Alice (Wotring) Cahn and husband Edward of Emmaus, Pennsylvania, 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held in Chino, California on February 6 at 3 p.m. at Del Angel Funeral Home.
Additional services will be held in Emmaus, Pennsylvania at a later date with internment on a family plot in Northwood Cemetery at 101 Harrison St., Emmaus, Pennsylvania.
