Delfina Almanza Contreras

Delfina was born in Guadalupe Chihuahua, Mexico to Aguilera and Valentin Ramirez Contreras.

One of our golden girls has left this world, one of our merchants, a special lady who played a huge role in our lives. We will never be the same. She was an amazing, caring, loving mom and grandmother. Such a strong woman who will be truly missed.

Delfina was a devoted Jehovah's Witness for 38 years. She love to dance, and to show her love through her cooking for her family and her beloved brothers and sisters in the faith.

She was born in Chihuahua, Mexico and moved to Texas at the age of twelve years old, she was married and had three children in Pecos, Texas three in Artensia, New Mexico, and two in Merced, California.

She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years Jesus Almanza and her eight children, Jaime Contreras, Arnulfo Soto, Francisco Soto, Guadalupe Soto Flores, Jose Luis Soto, Maria Carmen Soto Nunez, Lisa Medrano Contreras and Antonio Espinoza; her sisters Maria Erives, Elvira Gongora, Maria De Jesus Fuentes; her two brothers, Guillermo Contreras, Jose Angel. She is also survived by her twenty-seven grandchildren, seventy great grandchildren and on great great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ines, Manuel, Adan, Victor and Federico Contreras.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Club Mercedes from 3:00 - 4:00 pm followed by dinner.
