John Louis Charlton

John Louis Charlton 7/28/1921 – 4/17/2015 John was born on July 28, 1921 and passed away on Friday April 17, 2015 at the age of 93. John joined the Army Air Force and was a mechanic during WWII. Upon leaving the Army he continued working as a mechanic as well as a foreman for the most part of his life. He also served as past commander of the VFW. John was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hazel Charlton; sister, Sue Miller; brother, Bob Charlton and his twin brother, Bill Charlton. He is survived by his 4 children, Clarence Charlton of Merced, Frances Peaslee of Fresno, Lori Charlton of Chowchilla and John Charlton of Merced; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Donald Charlton of Fortuna and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 11am at the Church of Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 277 Howell Rd., Chowchilla, CA 93610. Graveside services will be on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11am at Ocean View Cemetery – Sunset Memorial Park, 3975 Broadway, Eureka, CA 95503.
