Maria Garza Munoz

Maria, a native of San Juan Texas, spent the majority of her life in California including Chowchilla, Madera, Merced and Atwater.

A licensed Cosmetologist in her younger years, beautification of clients was more than just her profession, prior to retirement Maria combined her skills with her greatest passion--Family--giving her grandchildren first haircuts they could be proud of.

When it came to family Maria was always the rock, she was reliable and ever present. She enjoyed family gatherings sharing her treasure recipes including: tamales, enchiladas, arroz and homemade chili sauce.

For Maria her later years were filled with luck and leisure as she became an avid Bingo player.

Maria is survived by her children, Lydia Falcon, Lionel Falcon, Nick Falcon, Maribel Shaw, and Lori Martinez. Her brothers, Raymond Garza and Manuel Garza, Her sisters, Sylvia Nelson, Margaret Garza, Flora Cervantes, Virginia Garza, and Sara Garza. She also leaves behind 24 Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great-great Grandchildren.

Maria is preceded in death by her sons Jose Luis Falcon, Gilbert Falcon; her parents Refugio and Crescenia Garza; brothers Benacio (Benny) Garza, Antonio Garza; grandsons Pete Rios Jr. and Raul Perez Jr.

A visitation for Maria will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 5:00 - 9:00 pm at Palm Memorial Worden Chapel, 140 South 6th Street, Chowchilla.

Rosary service will occur Friday, June 2, 2023 at 9:00 am followed by Mass at St. Columba Catholic Church, 213 Orange Avenue, Chowchilla.

Maria will be laid to rest in Chowchilla Cemetery District, 23359 Road 14 1/2, Chowchilla, California following Mass service.
