Marvin was born on May 15, 1937 in Portland, Oregon, where he spent his formative years. He went on to attend Livingston High and graduated in 1955. He then attended University of Pacific Stockton on a track scholarship and later became a pillar to the Chowchilla Community. Throughout his life, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
But more than anything, Marvin was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his children, sharing stories, playing games, and watching movies. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
In his free time, Marvin enjoyed being a part of various non-profit organizations including US Junior Chamber (Jaycees), Chowchilla Lions Club and Rebekah’s and was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He was an active member of his community, where he served on the Planning Commission for the City of Chowchilla from there was elected to serve on the Chowchilla High School Board for many years.
Marvin is survived by his loving children, Annette Zimmer (Matt), Shelley Francesconi (Mike), his grandchildren, Shaun Zimmer, Kerri Williams (Randall), Miles Tuffs, Cory Ochoa, Nicole Ochoa, his 8 great-grandchildren, and partner Donna Herman.
