Melinda Kay Steele age 59 Long time resident of Chowchilla California born to Jimmy and Janice Dibler on July 25, 1965 in Chowchilla, California. Surrounded by her family Melinda went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2025.
Melinda graduated from Chowchilla High School and went on to marry the love of her life Darryl Steele December 7th 1989. Together they built a beautiful life filled with an abundance of love and five children, Melinda is also a strong believer in her faith as she’s passed her love for the Lord down to her children.
In Melinda’s spare time, she enjoyed anything to do with her grandchildren she spent countless hours on ballfields next to her husband cheering on her grandchildren’s sporting events. She loved going on vacations and lake days with her family and watching her youngest granddaughter make TikTok. To say she was a proud grandparent is an understatement. We could only imagine the role she would take on being a great grandparent to her soon to be great grandson. Because she already beamed with Joy.
Melinda was preceded in death by her Father Jimmy Dibler and baby Sister Deanna Dibler from Chowchilla. Her father and mother in law Kenneth and Lillian Steele and Many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years Darryl Steele, her Mother Janice Dibler, Brother Bobby Dibler and sister Melody Dibler, her Brother Randy and wife Cheryl Maddison.
Son Jimmy Steele and wife Mellissa Steele, granddaughter and grandson Blaine Butler & Kaitlyn Steele, and soon to be great grandson Colton Butler.
Daughter Polly Rohrs and husband Charles Rohrs, grandchildren, Tyler Rohrs, Trever Rohrs, Trenten Rohrs and Lilee Rohrs.
Son Kenny Steele and wife Shyanna Ross.
Daughter Kimberly Steele and finance Izzy and granddaughter Albany Killian.
Baby son Wyatt Steele and her dog companions Honey and Daisy.
She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Melinda always had a welcoming smile and hug for anyone she cared for she will be greatly missed . A memorial service will be held to honor her at a date and time to be announced.
A Celebration of Life for Melinda will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Chowchilla Assembly of God Church, 3117 Orang Avenue, Chowchilla, California, 93610.
