After a strong battle against Severe Aplastic Anemia on January 7th 2023 at 3:33pm Vincent “Bubba” McAlister was released from suffering and received his wings from The Most High. He was only an 11 year old young devoted son, brother, nephew, uncle, grandson, and friend that will be truly missed and admired. Vincent will always be remembered by his family and friends for his loving sincerity, generosity, and silly character. He was known for his beautiful smile and big heart for everyone. He was the child that seen the beauty in everything. He loved caring for his nephews and Aunty as well as hanging out with his friends. He loved DIY projects where he could be creative and try to make him some money. He loved taking pictures and videos from an early age which led to him pursuing his Tik Tok channel. He was a true cuddle buddy. He always made sure he had one of us to snuggle under. He was a real Momma’s boy. He was the one who said he was never leaving home cause he was gonna take care of his mom. In July of 2022 Vincent was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia, which is a condition in which the bone marrow shuts down and stops producing the blood the body needs to survive. With this you have no immune system and have to take many medications and get many blood transfusions. While praying for a miracle and waiting for a donor match the infections started progressing faster than could be treated. Though he lost his life to this ugly disease he was the victor because no matter what he was going through he kept faith and continued to smile daily. Thus, bringing about his motto “Smile for Me” for he is no longer suffering. He’s happy, laughing, and playing again.
Vincent Brandyn Lugene McAlister also know as Bubba was born to LeAnita Jeannette Rivera and Larry Jermaine McAlister on Aug 29th 2011 at 13:32. His name had a lot of meaning just like his existance. While his mother was pregnant with him she lost her Uncle Butch(Vincent), sister Brandy, and grandpa Buddy(Lugene) in that order and a span of 3 months(March, April, May). The name Bubba was given at birth because of the 3 B’s and his late great Uncle Bubba. Losing so many was hard so it was nothing but a miracle that Bubba came along, Mom’s own personal rainbow after the storm. At the age of one his family moved to Chowchilla where Vincent would spend his 10 remaining years being raised by his Mother(LeAnita Rivera, StepFather(Leon Graham Jr), and Aunt(Marquita McAlister) with a host of help along the way because it takes a village strong and united to raise a child. Although Marquita was his aunty, she was more like a 2nd mom. From birth he was illuminated by the spirit and could brighten any room he stepped into and that he did. During his time here on earth Vincent attended preschool, kindergarten, elementary and played football and basketball in Chowchilla, CA. He visited many states with his family and stayed a year in Texas. Vincent loved to attend the after school program and church(Sunday mornings @ Chowchilla First Free Will Baptist and Wednesday evenings KidsMo @ Cornerstone Community), from a very early age, and continued to pray even when he was unable to attend. Throughout his journey with this sickness he read daily scriptures on his bible app. Our motto was always “prayed up and positive” and that’s what we did as a family up to his final moment.
Vincent leaves to celebrate his life and memories his mother LeAnita Rivera & step father Leon Graham Jr both of Chowchilla, CA, his father Larry McAlister & step mother LaShonda McAlister both of Las Vegas, NV, his siblings LaZiyrah and Ziyrel McAlister of Chowchilla, CA, Christian Anderson, Laemoni and Laeyona McAlister of Madera. Vincent was preceded in his ascension by his niece Iniyah Cingcon, his grandfather Eddie Rivera, his grandmother Alma Jean Frazier, his aunts Angelita Rivera and Paris McAlister, his great-grandmothers Carrie Frazier, Willie Mae Curry, Evelyn Davis, and Magdalena Rivera, his great-grandfathers Toy Frazier, Theodore McAlister, Philip Rivera and Lugene Davis. It saddens us all to know that we will no longer have his physical body in our presence. So many questions come to mind on why but then I have to face the reality of what The Most High had been preparing me for, for quite some time and I just hadn’t the understanding of the depth of it. When I look back on his last days and how much he was going thru I am grateful that he was chosen to be released and relieved from all that pain. We have to remember that the soul never dies, only the flesh. Be thankful and love one another as he loved us all. Say a prayer and Smile for Bubba.
Please pray for us all as Bubba would always say. Pray for continued strength and guidance for the family through these difficult. Pray for love and compassion over the whole world.
Vincent will be getting cremated Feb 3rd 2023(a private service for the family) and his celebration of life services will be held on March 3rd 2023( a celebration for family and friends) at the Veteran’s Park located at 600 Robertson Blvd, Chowchilla, CA 93610 where will celebrate everything Bubba/Vincent style.
