

Arthur (Art) John Dossman, Sr., 91, of Stoutsville, OH, passed away on March 1st after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Art was born on October 27th, 1931, to Jim and Laura Dossman in Cincinnati, OH. When he was just 19, he joined the Navy and would go on to serve in the Korean War. After serving overseas, he eventually began working for the Veterans Administration and ultimately retired in Chillicothe, Ohio.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy, of 42 years, and his daughters, Judy Mitchell, Lori (Brent) Rohrer, and sons, David, John (Jodie), and Cris (DeeDee) Nelson, sister, Margie Macomber, sister-in-law, Linda (Clint) Wright, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Linda, son Andy, and brother Jim.
He was a passionate Do-It-Yourselfer and very active in the St. Joseph Catholic church. Throughout Art’s life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. He also loved to go on cruises, but you dare not call a ship a “boat”.
He was a life member of the Amvets, VFW, American Legion, DAV, Korean War Veterans, and Knights of Columbus.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 7th at Defenbaugh Wise Schoedinger funeral home (151 E. Main St, Circleville) from 5:30-7:30pm with Rosary following. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, March 8th at St. Joseph Catholic Church (134 W. Mound St, Circleville). Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Circleville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic church, Circleville.
