

Connie B Bourgeois, 85, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle of metastatic breast cancer. She was born on July 2, 1939, in Jet, Oklahoma, to William and Ova Hughes and was raised in Belle Plaine, KS.
She was the heart and soul of her family, known for her compassion and infectious laughter.
A devoted mother of four, Grandmother of eleven, Great Grandmother of 15 and Great Great Grandmother of nine, Connie’s greatest joy came from seeing her family grow and watching football, so much that she would not take any phone calls from Thursday till Monday due to the games being on television. Her favorite teams were the New Orleans Saints and THE Ohio State Buckeyes. She loved gardening and always had a beautiful garden every spring and summer.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, William and Ova Hughes and her sister-in-law, Leona Hughes.
Connie is survived by her brother, Jack Hughes of Miller SD, children, Kim Henderson of Ocean Springs, MS, Kelly (Jon) Bourdeau of Kissimmee, FL, Kris Rutherford of Mandeville, LA and Kerry (Dani) Bludnick of Circleville, OH, grandchildren Sydney (Tyler) Aulisi of Niskayuna, NY, Lyndsey (Chris) Martin of Boston, MA, Jonathan Bourdeau, Jr. of Kissimmee FL, Kasi (John) McDaniel of Ocean Springs, MS, Robert Henderson, Jr. of Pass Christian, MS, Veronica (Tabitha) Fucich of Mandeville, LA, Travis (Jen) Fucich of Olathe, KS, Gregory (Leighanna) Bludnick of Delaware, OH, Danyelle (Gaelan) Schaar of Columbus, OH and Karter Bludnick of Zanesville, OH, many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her canine companion Gus.
A very special thanks to Angie Mullins, her caretaker for the past three years, the staff at Fairfield Medical Center Oncology, Ohio Health Berger and Riverside hospitals, Heartland Hospice nurses Sierra and Nicole for the comfort and compassionate care given to Connie in her final days.
