He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 63 years, Theda; daughter in law, Theresa Collins; son in law, Timothy Howdyshell; and several brothers and sisters.
Dwight is survived by his son, Rick Collins; and daughter, Deborah Howdyshell; grandchildren, Christina (Ryan) Burnsides, James (Jennifer), Johnathan (Lauren) Howdyshell and Amy (Adam) Horn; great-grandchildren, Claire and Owen Burnsides; Jack, Thunder, Adam Jr., Timber, and Sunshine Horn; Parker, Grayson, Miles, and Baker Howdyshell; sisters and brother, Helen Weaver, Betty Teets, Mary Jane Skinner; Jerry Collins many nieces, nephews and friends.
Dwight enjoyed watching the Buckeyes, Bengals, Reds, and the Home Alone movies. He was very thoughtful and kind to everyone he met.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville, OH 43113. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Stoutsville. Friends may call from 11am until 1pm the day of the service.
