

John Hawley, age 58, of Circleville passed away December 13, 2021. John was born on September 16, 1963, to his parents John and Alice (Long) Hawley in Columbus, Indiana. When John came home after his delivery, he was quickly given the nickname of “Monkey Man” by family neighbors because of his full, dark head of hair. He lived up to this nickname later by also being a wild tree climber! John was a truck driver, enjoyed fishing and dirt track races, and was a handyman with many projects in the works at all times. John was an active member of the “Ready to Burn” Bicycle Club where he was known as “Mr. Real Estate.” John was a generous man who befriended and helped everyone he met.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Alice, his sister Pamela Siders, grandparents George and Sylvia Long, and grandparents Douglas and Leota Hawley.
John is survived by and will be greatly missed by his brother Joseph; sisters Marta and Beth; stepchildren Michael (Heather) Baker, Luke (Sarah) Danner, and Tasha Danner; grandchildren Cheyenne, Trevor, Shana, Payton and Colson Baker, Gunnar Strawser, and Madison Nutter; along with nieces and nephews Zeth Hawley, Zhyarie Dowdy, John Siders, Cassandra Siders, Brandon Clark, Matthew Hawley, Chad Brown, Martin Lee Brown, Ryan Brown, and Brittany Brown.
In lieu of flowers, please donate directly to the funeral home by phone or mail with any contributions to assist in the cost of John’s arrangements. Per John’s wishes cremation is arranged with Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, 151 E. Main Street, Circleville, Ohio 43113.
