Bernice Wood

Bernice was born December 27, 1923 at Mt. Erie, IL to Fred H. and Ella (VanFossan) Wells. She married Willard Wood April 5, 1941 at Clayton, MO and he survives.

Bernice was a telephone operator for twenty years for General Telephone. She was a member of First Christian Church at Fairfield, IL and loved children, animals, growing roses and helping others.

Bernice is survived by her husband Willard Wood of Fairfield, IL; one daughter Carolyn Hothersall (& her husband Barry) of Westmont, IL; two sons Willard Wood (& his wife Sandy) of Monroe, LA and William Wood (& his wife Linda) of Rolla, MO; three sisters Anna Fern Massie of Fairfield, IL; Dorothy Billington (& her husband Osie) of Olney, IL and Mary Frye of Cisne, IL; and one brother Charles Wells of Cisne, IL. Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

Preceding her in death were four brothers Elmo, Harold, Gerald, and Glen Everett and her parents.

Funeral services for Bernice Wood will be 10:00AM Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Hosselton Funeral Home. Burial will be at Scott Cemetery at Mt. Erie, IL. Friends may call 5-7PM Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the funeral home.
