Beverly was born in Lincoln, Illinois on December 12, 1946 but moved to Clayton, NC as a young child. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Franklin Unger and Lavarre Duncan Unger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Unger (infant).
Beverly was a 1965 graduate of Clayton High School and went on to graduate from nursing school as a registered nurse. She spent many years caring for others as a nurse. She worked at Dorothea Dix Hospital for over 30 years before retiring to Morehead City, where she always dreamed to live. She loved going down to the waterfront and watching the boats and traveling. She loved gospel music and traveled to many gospel sings through the years.
She was a loving, caring, and compassionate daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed by all who loved and knew her.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton. The family will receive friends from 1:00–2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place at Pinecrest Memorial Park immediately following the service.
Beverly is survived by her sister, Wilma “Dale” Unger Ellis (Danny), of Clayton; nephew, Terry Ellis (Jeanette) of Zebulon; niece, Jennifer Ellis Sox (Gil) of Selma; great nieces and nephews, Terrence Ellis, Joshua Ellis, Lauren Wall, Rayne Ellis; dear friend, Billie Hanrahan of Morehead City, NC.
