Her determined and persevering spirit prolonged her life for 2 years after a cancer diagnosis. She now lives victorious over death and the grave because of her abiding faith in Jesus.
Connie was born in Wake County on July 3, 1954 to the late Earl Rogers and the late Shirley Wood Rogers Coen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Tommy Rogers; and nephew, Christopher Rogers.
She leaves behind her husband of 51 years Jimmy Faison; son Chad Faison and wife Julie; daughter Rachel Kennedy and husband Jonathan; grandchildren, Hannah and husband Zach, Andrew, Clay, Abigail, Leah, Kate and Griffin; great grandchildren, Gideon and Coen; brother, Ronnie Rogers and wife Teresa, and their daughter, Maggie.
Connie was beloved and cherished by all who knew her. Once you met her you were sure to be on the receiving end of her unfailing generosity and servant’s heart. She was known for her love of family, big smile, delicious meals and truly living out an “always room at the table” kind of life. Her heart and home were always open and a welcoming refuge for many over her lifetime.
Connie’s love for her family was unsurpassed. Her home was a place of solace, laughter, long talks and cheering on the Tarheels and Patrick Mahomes. Though she was a hard and diligent worker in every aspect of her life, creating a lifetime of memories with her family was her most fulfilling achievement. She also served in many capacities at Auburn Christian Church, Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and was a founding member of The Church at Clayton Crossings. Her legacy of faith and hope in Jesus is alive and well in her family, friendships and the lives of so many she touched along the way.
