David E. Putnam

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Putnam, who passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025 at the age of 82. Born on January 28, 1943 in Smithfield, North Carolina, David was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and an amazing person.

David served his country and family with the utmost respect and integrity. He was an honored Vietnam Veteran and a hero to us all.

David leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He is survived by His children: Patricia Prindle, Greg Putnam and Christine Putnam; His grandchildren: Kelly Navarro, Ashley Prindle, Sarah Putnam, Tyler Putnam, Caitlin Lyttle and Bubba Lyttle; His great grandchildren: Aubrey Lynn Navarro, Alexandra Navarro, Khloe Prindle, Eleanor Navarro, Tristan Navarro and Malakai Torres. He also leaves behind his son-in-law, Lyle Prindle, daughter-in-law, Michelle Putnam and brother, Marshall Putnam.

He was preceded in death by His beloved wife, Linda Putnam.

A memorial service will be held on 5/23/2025 at 2:00 pm at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina and will be livestreamed at: https://McLaurin-Funeral-Home-and-Pinecrest-Memorial-Park.livecontrol.tv/c78d2e0d

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project in David Putnam's memory.

We will forever cherish the memories of David Putnam's warm smile and sense of humor. He was a true inspiration and will be missed dearly.
