Dora’s life was a beautiful testimony of faith, love, and dedication. A devoted Christian, she lived each day with grace, humility, and a heart full of kindness. Her unwavering commitment to her faith was evident not only in her words but in her lifelong service—particularly in the joy she found teaching Bible classes at her church, which brought her profound fulfillment.
A gifted and passionate music and voice teacher, Dora shared her talents with generations of students over an extraordinary 60-year career. Her love for music and her devotion to teaching left a lasting legacy in the lives of countless children and families. Dora’s gift wasn't just in her voice, but in her ability to nurture confidence, discipline, and joy in those she taught.
She was the heart and soul of her family. Married to the love of her life, Lee Naylor for 57 beautiful years, Dora exemplified love, strength, and partnership. She was a nurturing mother to her daughters, Anjanette Mitchell, Nancee Franklin (Jay), and Kim Gilbert; a proud grandmother to Alexandra Ely (Rich), Nicholas Mitchell, and Lindsay Gilbert; and loving sister to brother Donald Moore (Emily). Her family was her world, and she never missed a chance to travel, gather, and laugh with them.
While Dora held many things dear—her church, her students, and her travels—she had a special place in her heart for one tiny companion: her beloved little dog, Wiggles. Wiggles brought her immense joy and was a constant source of love and comfort.
Dora’s life was a melody of compassion, purpose, and love. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the song she sang in all our hearts will echo forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Dora’s memory to: The Hospice Foundation of America, whose care and compassion helped carry her peacefully to rest.
