

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Bethesda Baptist Church with Pastor Will King and Pastor Gary Burden officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the church, prior to the service.
Mrs. Simpson was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 17, 1937 to the late Milton Grammer and the late Nancy Clinedinst Grammer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Elsie Grammer; her husband, Reverend Norman Lee Simpson; and her sister, Grace Grammer Vrell.
She enjoyed teaching ladies’s Sunday School, jigsaw puzzles, anything sports related, and playing (beating) her family at board and card games.
She is survived by her children, Fran Phoebus, Bryan Simpson (Lauren), Linda Ashouri (Amer), Brenda Simpson, and Dawn Simpson; grandchildren, Michael Lunderville (Amber), Matthew Lunderville (Katie), Jeremy Simpson (Rachel), Joel Simpson (Amanda), Camilia Ferguson, Megan Stallings, Abigail Simpson, Sarah Ashouri, Nawal Ashouri, and Mohammad Ashouri; great grandchildren, Avery, Olivia, Layla, Devin, Sydney, Laila, Wade, and Beau; as well as treasured nieces and nephews.
