

With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Edith Brady Parrish Nelson, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us on September 29, 2024. Edith was a remarkable woman whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born on November 4,1949, Edith dedicated her life to her family and community. She was a woman of many talents. She was a co-owner in a construction company, co-owner in a convenience store, real estate agent, bookkeeper, notary, coach, and a Sunday school teacher.
Edith is survived by her longtime companion Carl Pulley; her children, Christopher Chance Parrish and his wife, Julianna Fine Parrish; William Brady Parrish and his wife, Natalie Pollard Parrish; and her daughter, Victoria Lynn Parrish. Edith embraced her role as a loving grandmother to Christopher Chance Parrish II and Louisa Kathleen Parrish. Her siblings Kay Stokley, Glenda Moore and husband Alfred, Willie Brady and wife Janet.
Known for her unwavering support (often heard cheering “That’s my baby!” at sports events), Edith’s charismatic spirit and ability to bring people together created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her legacy of compassion, coupled with her sense of humor, will continue to bring smiles to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Edith’s life and her 75th birthday will be held on November 9, 2024, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Powhatan Original Free Will Baptist Church in Clayton, NC. Close friends and family are invited to honor her memory and share stories of her remarkable life. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
