Frances Elizabeth Massengill

Frances Elizabeth Massengill, age 87, of Wilson Mills, NC, passed away Sunday morning August 31st at home surrounded by members of her family.

Born on November 27, 1937, in Riverhead, Long Island New York. Frances lived a full life, traveling and living around the world, collecting souvenirs from all the places she went. Raising her family and being a part of their lives. She enjoyed the simple joys of life, spending time with her family, shopping, being outside listening to the birds, and watching the squirrels play, or the deer running across the yard while riding around on the gator. She also enjoyed listening to music, and dancing, and reminiscing about the good times in her life. She was a hard worker and very dependable throughout her life.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Massengill, sisters Nancy Jones and Lida Lunez.

Frances is survived by her seven children, Susan Dixon, Donna Pearce, Betty Talton, Billy Massengill, Jimmy Massengill, Mary McLeod, and Darlene Dubois. Twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Massengill Scarborough, Garrett Massengill, Brandy Hammell, Kenny Dixon, Jessica Kennedy, Charlie Kennedy, Robbie Talton, William Talton, Hannah Howe, Terry Bullock, Kristin Williams, and Peanut Dubois.

Thirteen Great Grandchildren, Madison, Charlotte, Bella, Chance, AJ, Mason, Kinsley, Noah, Hayley, Athena, Nathan, Jacob, and Kairi. And many nieces and nephews.

Frances was a faithful person and will be deeply missed and thought of often. She will be laid to rest beside her husband during a private graveside service at a later date. Our family would like to thank all her friends for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers during this difficult time.
