Francis “Frank” Vesper Fearing, age 68, passed away after a long illness on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born in Columbus Ohio on June 21, 1957, he was a son to the late Earl Fearing and Ruth Blankenship Fearing.
Frank graduated from Mt. Olive College. He loved the Lord and had a passion for preaching. Frank owned a Christian bookstore for some time, and was a referee for high school basketball and rec ball. He was a big UNC football and basketball fan. In his free time, Frank was a part of the play "Worthy is The Lamb" in Cape Carteret, NC. Although he played different fill in parts as needed, his main role was the part of Pilot. Frank was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Garner at 11:00am. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his brothers,
Earle Fearing and Randy Fearing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Fearing; daughters, Jennifer McCartney and her husband Eric McCartney, Heather Scott and her husband Beau Scott; grandchildren, Dakota Miers, Hunter Miers, and Ashley Miers; and one great granddaughter, Logan Miers.
