A memorial funeral mass will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, August 7, 2026 at Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of the Neuse Road, Raleigh, North Carolina.

Inurnment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Clayton, North Carolina.

She was born in Ecuador on June 4, 1946 to the late Mentor Freire and Ester Garces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Paulo Cesar, Alex Patricio, Cesar, Carmen, Estela.

She was a tailor and seamstress by trade and she took great pride in excelling in her trade.

She is survived by her 5 children — Lenin, Alex, Irlanda, Paulo Leonel, and Mark; her grandchildren — Ivette, Omar, Johanna, Genssy, Darien, Alexandria, Dianaly, Xavier, Isaac, Sarah, Mason, Sophia, Florence, and Theodosia; her great‑grandchildren — John Paul, Matthew, Noah, and Leilani; and her brothers and sisters — Magdalena, Marlene, Hernan, Saul, and Marcelo.
