Karen was born in Spruce Pine, North Carolina on June 27, 1953 to Harley Eugene Young and the late Inez Bradley Hill.
She graduated from Enloe High School and shortly after started a family. Karen stayed at home to raise her two children and then returned to the workforce as a manager for various cell phone companies until her retirement.
In her free time, Karen loved to be with her family and friends. When her grandkids were younger, she loved to spend time with them; playing games, crafting or baking. She could be found on any given Friday or Saturday night sharing a home cooked meal with her friends and playing a board game or playing cards. Karen was also an avid reader and loved to plant and maintain her garden.
Karen is survived by her two children, Nathan and Mary Evans of Clayton and Natalie and Greg Pittman of Selma; grandchildren, Ava Evans, Ethan Evans, Cullen Evans, Hudson Pittman and Braxton Pittman; parents, Harley and Lorraine Young of Chester, VA; brother and sister, Terrie and Nathan Keys of Tega Cay, SC and Harley and Judy Young of Midlothian, VA; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Bradley Hill and her sisters, Sherrie Grooms and Marlena Young.
