

Born in Darmstadt, Germany, on April 2, 1935, he was a son to the late Dora and Franz Fiedler.
He immigrated to the United States in 1951 at the age of 16 to live with his Aunt Louise and Uncle Hans. Karl joined the US Air Force in 1957 (doing 4 years active and 2 years inactive duty). While serving he became a US Citizen.
After his time in the Air Force, he worked for 35 years for Adler Royal Business machines.
Karl and his loving wife Renate belonged to Grace Lutheran church in Livingston, NJ for over 20 years until retiring to Florida. His passion was soccer, and he coached Stephen’s travel team for many years as well as becoming the President of the East Hanover Soccer Club. He was highly involved in the German community from the Deutsche Sprachshule, Steuben Parade committee Co-Chairman, and Deutsche Club of Clark, NJ. He was an avid stamp collector of American and German stamps. Karl was loyal, confident, and had an extremely soft heart to help others. He always stuck tightly with family and was always there to help however needed.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. An urn burial with military honors will take place at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in the Eastern Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Karl is preceded in death by his son, Karl Jeffrey Fiedler.
He is survived by his loving wife and companion of 64 years, Renate Fiedler; son, Stephen Fiedler and, daughter-in-law, Rachel; grandsons, Ethan and Eli; brother, Franz Fiedler and his wife Michele; niece, Isabelle, who reside in Germany as well as many cousins.
