Born on May 22, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland to John and Rose Healy, she lived a life full of love that she gladly shared with many along the way.
She is survived by her three children (Eric, David, and Matthew) and four grandchildren (Nickolas, Ethan, Noah, and Serenity).
Her life was spent learning and sharing stories that mattered. Her career included more than two decades of compassionate care for those needing cemetery plots, monuments, or funeral services followed by nearly two decades of teaching at Blue Ridge Community College, Johnston Community College, and Wake Tech, but without a doubt her favorite job in life was being a mother and grandmother.
Always a writer - whether in personal journals, newspaper articles, or published books - she recorded life in a way that let her share her life experiences with others in an inspiring and heartwarming way. Her creativity was enjoyed not only in print but also on stage as an actress in several community theater productions.
In her final weeks, she enriched the lives of nurses and hospital staff at UNC Health Johnston, shared memories with family, and continued to teach others the meaning of love and gratitude in this season of Thanksgiving. She will be missed by those who knew her here on earth until we are reunited in heaven as part of the body of Christ when we are called home to join her.
“For just as the body is one, and yet has many parts, so all the parts of the body, though they are many, are only one body. So also is Christ. And indeed, in one Spirit, we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether servant or free. And we all drank in the one Spirit.”
