Katie Melissa Rehkamp

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Katie Melissa Rehkamp, who left us on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the age of 46. Born on October 23, 1977, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and raised in Millerstown, Katie lived life to the fullest, always putting her family first.

A proud graduate of Greenwood High School, class of 1996, Katie excelled in sports, playing softball and basketball. Her love for animals was evident in her cherished pets—rabbits and guinea pigs—and her passion for riding horses.

Katie earned her degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University in 2003, after beginning her education at Penn State University. She started her professional career in June of 2009 as the firm administrator for both Cheshire Parker Schneider Law Firm and the Daphne Edwards Law Firm. At both law firms, she expertly handled all accounting, human resources, and office management needs, becoming an invaluable member of the teams.

Katie is preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Eileen Ragette and Charlie and Lillian Rehkamp, as well as her uncle Timothy Rehkamp. She is survived by her partner and the father of her children, Simone Mitchell; her beloved children, Justice, Cali, and Kailey; her parents, Kerry and Joseph Rehkamp; and her siblings, Johanna Rehkamp, Abby Rehkamp, and Ryan Rehkamp; and niece, Abrielle Andrade-Rehkamp.

Katie will be remembered for her infectious smile, boundless love, and commitment to both her work and home life. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, kindness, and strength that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.

In honoring Katie’s life, we invite all who knew her to celebrate her memory and the joy she brought to our lives. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 29, 2024. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm, just prior to the service.
