We learned of Ken's passing this morning and were stunned and heartbroken.  We truly enjoyed the time we had with him, as he was so personable and authentic.  He talked of his family and his faith even more than he discussed the product he was in our office to promote.  I enjoyed many conversations with Ken about life and family and faith.  He always stuck out to me as being a genuine person who was driven to be an honest, hard-working man, loving father and devoted husband.  He was so very proud of his children and you could hear in his voice that the sun rose and set on his sweet wife.  He was both proud of her strength as an exceptional woman, and touched by her tenderness as a mother.  He always spoke so highly of all of his family.  He was a great person to offer a word of advice or a word of encouragement to us.  He will most assuredly be missed dearly.  I do hope that you hold onto the knowledge that Ken knew where he was going at the end of his time here.  I believe, from what I know of him, he would not be scared of that journey.  I believe he would be at peace with his own destiny and would do everything in his ability to shine down on his family to help ease the grief.  May your days of sorrow be brief and your memories bring you happiness.

Hello,  we at the Center for Rehabilitation Care in Chapel Hill, NC  knew Ken as he was our drug rep.  Ken was a deeply spirirtual gentleman.  I fondly remember having conversations with him about the Lord and how he was a big part of our lives.  Ken loved his family and the Lord. His face lit up when he talked about each in detail and how proud he was of his family and the accomplishments each had made. Ken took the time to offer advice and wisdom on life and it's obstacles. Words cannot describe how sorry I am for your loss.  This was a shock to all that knew Ken......he was a great man who everyone at Merz enjoyed knowing and am confident will never forget. He had integrity and was warm and kind  always. He came to training my first week in Raleigh and was so knowledgeable and welcoming-a true professional. I especially loved his endearing stories and pride of his children and family.  He could be counted on to stand up for what he believed in and took the time to call to celebrate even the smallest of accomplishments he had through the grapevine from colleagues.  Ken also had everyone's back. He texted me once during a regional call to let me know my phone had come off mute, a story that we laughed about on many occasions.  

My prayer for the Deustch family  is for strength, peace and forgiveness during this difficult time.  He was unique, special and like no other and will sorely be missed by all that were blessed to know him. He will live on in our hearts forever.

Karen it seems like yesterday that Gene and I were in Costa Rica with you and Ken. He never stopped bragging about the love of his life. Over the last several years, Ken and I became good friends at work and I had the utmost respect for him. He will be forever missed. His departures hits me hard as we suffer every day as a family with depression in those closest to me. I'm so sorry for you , the boys and little Mallory. Ken was "Real".   I had the honor of working together at Merz.  We could always count on Ken  to have your back, be loyal and offer confidential advice.  As competitive sales guys, Ken never let it go to his head.  Ken was first to offer complements and praise to others even at the most minor achievements.  The bond that one forms with Ken was over more than just work.  I most enjoyed hearing about his family, love for, sports, etc.  As a sports guy, with no kids, I lived vicariously through Ken's stories.  Ken made my life better because he showed us all that it is ok to stand up for what you believe, make mistakes and love folks for who they are.    I will miss Ken deeply. I spent last Sunday Aug 19 with Ken at a mandatory work event. He was my group partner at our team building event. We spent time  together as we competed for prizes. We were in line for hours and we chatted on the ride up the mountain. He enjoyed that moment and the beauty of Utah.  He talked about his family, his job, his home  and his history with the company.  He was such a nice person and made a impact on me. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Words cannot express the sincere and heart-felt sympathy I have for Karen, Trey, Harrison, and Mallory. I often think of Ken and hope he is doing well. My thoughts have constantly been on Ken, Karen and the children since I heard of Ken's passing. All I want to do love and help comfort his family, his parents and sister, his in-laws and those that were close to Ken on a daily basis. I pray that God will provide comfort and strength and that the love of God will be felt though my arms and the the arms of many others as we are holding this dear family through this difficult time. I first met Ken 28 years ago (this week) when I was a freshman at N.C. State University and we were close friends throughout college and beyond. He was with me when I first met my wife Ginger. Karen gave Ken and I a ride home after meeting a group of friends on their first date! I was in his wedding and he was in my wedding. There are not many people in this world we can call true friends but I felt Ken and I stayed connected even when our lives led us in different directions. Time apart never mattered because we picked right up where we left off whenever we got together or talked on the phone. Ken was a great person, husband and father, and friend who dedicated his life to be just that! Hardworking and honest, he was always generous with words of encouragement and with his gifts. He will truly be missed by me and many others he touched! Ken, I loved you then, through all the years, now and forever. We became brothers in Christ when you accepted the Lord Jesus into your heart! I will always remember you and the value you added to my life the lives of others! I will do my best to uphold the legacy you left behind. God speed dear friend! I will miss you...

I like everyone else am still in shock. I met Ken for the first time this last January at our Merz Mid-Year Meeting in Raleigh. I remember shaking his huge hand and thinking that is one strong son of a gun. As I got to know Ken more that first week and ever since, I have learned that he was a big teddy bear who would do anything for his family and his colleagues. We had very similar interests with sports and he was so very proud of his kids and what they were accomplishing in their young lives. Ken was the one that all of us at Merz looked up to as he was very accomplished with his business and we all wanted to replicate that. Before we left for our flights Thursday he gave me a big hug and said if you need anything at all please don’t hesitate to call me. Well Ken, God needs you more at this time than we do. God Bless to your family and friends and all those mourning the death of an incredible human being.

I knew Ken through work. He came to our office often. I am the MA at the practice. He was the kindest person. I know he loved his wife & children, he spoke of them all the time. He & I talked about baseball, my son plays too, he told me if I ever need anything regarding ball & boys to let him know. The news is heartbreaking & shocking to say the least. He will definitely be missed by me & our office. I send my thoughts & prayers to his wife, & children, to all of his family & friends.

My heart is heavy to hear the news that Ken is gone. He was truly such a kind, generous, honest, funny man.  Throughout our time here at Merz, Ken has been an invaluable friend and colleague. Just last week at our National Sales Meeting in Utah, Ken & I were standing watching these crazy young athletes perform daring freestyle twists and turns off of ski jumps into a pool. Ken said, “This is crazy! I’ve got to show this to my son!” He called him right away and you could just see his face light up. He was always sharing about Karen and his kiddos and was so proud. Ken definitely made his mark and we are better for knowing him.  I’m so sorry for your loss and am praying comfort for your family in a situation that feels impossible. Dear Deutsch Family - My name is Amir Roizman and I have known Ken for many of the years that I have been working at Merz. We would meet at National Sales meetings once a year and I always looked forward to reconnecting. We knew each other well as he would always have a massive handshake and it also came with a big bear hug - making me feel small:). Once I got to know him a little bit better, he shared with me some of the deep Military background in the family. I loved listening to the pride in his voice when he spoke on this subject and he carried himself with all of those core values with pride. I always enjoyed seeing him and reconnecting and I will miss him and his warmth. A GREAT guy and indeed a loss to many too soon.

Karen, kids, family and friends,
I heard the news this morning and was so saddened...Ken always brought a smile to my face whenever I saw him or talked with him on the phone.  He has so much love for his wife  and kids!  One of the great memories was when he and Karen and Greg and I traveled to Cabo.  We had such a fun time celebrating and enjoying the beautiful city.  Last time we talked he said “I don’t need anything... I haven’t lost my job....I just want to see how you are doing.”  He cared for others so much and I know he still does.   
Karen and kids my prayers are on there way to you now.  Ken always talked about the love he has for all of you and that will never change!  I wish I could take away your pain right now, but I know God will help you with that each day...

This world lost a good man and an even better father.  All three children are respectful, kind and responsible - all because of how Karen and Ken raised them.  My heart breaks for this family and pray that their faith helps them through such a difficult time.

This still has not sunk in as yet.  My heart aches for Karen and the kids as they are all Ken spoke of.  I was just with him all last week and we shared some good laughs at the airport before parting ways.

I'm at a loss for words. I was just having dinner and drinks at a national sales meeting with Ken.  He was such a proud father and devoted husband. He always had a picture of Karen on his phone and sharing stories about family life, especially his son going off to college to play ball.  He was a dear friend and mentor to me. I will miss him dearly. 

My heart breaks for his family. Ken was a gentle soul with a gentle voice.  He will truly be missed! 

My wife and I just met Ken and his wife Friday night. We were looking forward to seeing them again. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, kids and family.
