Margie Broadwell, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the age 81. Margie was born in Wilsons Mills to the late David Washington Adams and Ora Strickland Adams on January 23,1943. She enjoyed waitress work where she worked at many restaurants in Wake and Harnett Counties. She enjoyed cooking especially on holidays where she loved having family gatherings, she also loved gardening and fishing with her late husband, Kenneth "SLIM" Broadwell. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much and her fur babies Oreo, Tika and Midnight,
In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth "SLIM' Broadwell, a brother, Dwight Kenneth Adams and a sister, Peggy Adams Price.
She is survived by her brother, Jimmy David Adams and his wife Nancy; her daughters, Joan Kay Vause, Rose Marie Norris and Wendy Gail Parker; grandchildren, Kelly Price Baker, Kristi Marie Messer (Jerry), Justin Vause, Leslie Hinnant, Laura Honeycutt (Brian), Lisa Hinnant and 12 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on 5 west Floor at UNC Rex Hospital and Heartland Hospice for the amazing care they gave mother at the hospital and at home.
A visitation for Margie will be held Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00pm at McLaurin Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 2:00pm in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home. The committal service will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Clayton. While flowers are accepted, memorial contributions may also be made to your local SPCA.
