Thinking of you, Buddy, JoAnne, Renee, during this time.  Good memories in the neighborhood with him and Renee when growing up. -- Sonya Pope


There are so many wonderful memories, Mark, Renee, and I are cousins but I always thought of them as brother and sister as we spent a lot of time together as kids, my kids even called them aunt and uncle, Mark was my heart, he always was the life of the party,  and always had fun games and ideas of games to play, we played beauty pageant alot, he truly was a wonderful game show host and played the part perfectly, he always knew how to make me laugh even when I was sad, and always had great advice, I will always remember the time I came in town and he picked me up and we went driving we the music all the way up, windows down, dancing in the car and singing 
Did not care what anyone thought, just had a blast singing with hom, he had all the right times and we knew every word, and a great voice also. So much fun!!! I will forever remember the games we played and how much fun he made my childhood!!! I will miss him dearly and miss all the great conversations we had!! Rest in peace my dear cousin and brother,  I love you to the moon and back!!! You were the one man in my life that always told me how beautiful I was and made me believe it, you will always and forever hold a special place in my heart!!!

I remember the first time I meet him  he was such a pure sweetheart and he had a smile like a angel. And enjoyed all our times having dinner out with him and Renee and all our other times together. He brought pure sunshine into everyone's life he meet. I loved him so much❤️❤️. So sorry for ya's loss and ya are in my thoughts and prayers. Love ya all so much.

Dear Renee, my deepest and most sincere sympathies to you and your mom and dad at Mark's passing. I  just want you to know that even though distance prevents me to be with you in person, I am certainly with you in thought and spirit. Hugs and love.

David and I have so many fond memories of growing up with Mark at Mount Moriah Baptist Church.   Mark always knew how to make others laugh.   Laughter is such good medicine.   He loved using "big" words from his extensive vocabulary to make my mother laugh.   Mama (Dot) would say, "Mark, you are so smart!"   "How do you know all of that stuff?"   "How can you remember all of that?"   Mark would look at me and we would all laugh at Mama's enthusiasm with Mark's broad vocabulary.  Mark seemed to enjoy coming to our house and having fried chicken and playing a card game called "Rook".   (many laughs and Mark would usually win!!! )

His sister, Renee, and I are the same age.   We would go to one another's house on many Sundays.   That was how Mark and I became friends.   There were so many fun weekends back then filled with fun and laughter.  Sometimes we enjoyed "Buddy's" homemade pizza (He makes the best pizza - tastes like Pizza Hut!!!!)   Mr. and Mrs. Womack always joined in on the laughter!!!  I knew that I was always welcomed at their home. 

Mark enjoyed playing on the church softball team.   David remembers him as being a good pitcher!!!

My mother always said that she loved hearing Mark sing  "The Little Drummer Boy" at Christmas.   Mark had a beautiful singing voice.   He sang solos and participated in church musicals.   Mark was a man of high intelligence and many gifts and talents.    He will be greatly missed by all.
