Melba Puckett Wheeler

Melba Puckett Wheeler, daughter of the late Issac and Lilly Lancaster Puckett passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the age of 102. Mrs. Wheeler was born in Johnston County on November 26, 1918 and worked as an inspector for Sylvania prior to her retirement.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:00am at Fellowship Baptist Church with Dr. Jon Jenkins and Dr. Charles Ray Ennis officiating. Interment will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service from 10 until 11:00am.

She is survived by her daughters, Gail Chamberlin and her husband, Jim, Kay Barker, Judy White and her husband, Richard; sister, Frances Croom; grandchildren, Wayne McFatter, Denise Gallimore, Derek Wheeler, David Wheeler, Angela Ainsworth, Mark White, Amy Turnbaugh, Chris White and Jamie White; great grandchildren, Matthew, Macey Ann, Cayleigh, Taylor, Cody, Lindsey, Pamela, Austin, Danielle, Noah, Addison and Landon. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Matthew D. Wheeler; son, Larry W. Wheeler and a grandson, Daniel Wheeler.
