A memorial service for Mickey will be held 11:00 am Monday, June 30, 2025 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home,12830 Clayton Boulevard, Clayton, North Carolina 27520 with Raleigh Fire Department Chaplain Pastor Jeffery Neal officiating. Members of the Raleigh Fire Department will serve as honor guards.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Mickey was born in Durham, North Carolina on November 9, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Odell Pollard, Sr. and Estelle Moore Pollard.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired as a Firefighter with the City of Raleigh Fire Department. Mickey was known as a kind and generous man to anyone he would meet.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan Cannon Pollard; and many colleagues and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Pollard requests memorials be made to a SPCA Chapter, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Raleigh Fire Department's Benevolent Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
