Richard Daniel Temple, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at home with his family by his side in Archers Lodge, NC. Born in Rahway, NJ on June 20, 1946, he was a son to the late Raymond and June Temple.
Richard proudly served during the Vietnam era in The United States Navy from 1964-1968 on The USS Vesole 878. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at McLaurin Funeral Home at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends from 10:00am-11:00am. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Allen “Big” Temple and Tommy Temple, sister, Durlyn Hunt and sister-in-law Anna Temple.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda R. Temple; daughters, Tammy Smith and husband Tommy, Dorene Temple, Dawn Temple and husband Chris, and Amanda Johnson; brothers, Robert Temple and wife Linda, James Temple, and Douglas Temple; sister, Robin Stracensky and husband Pete, and 9 loving grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Linda Temple.
