Thomas Russell Carroll, Jr. son of the late T. Russell and Kathleen B. Carroll passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. A 1966 graduate of Clayton High School, Mr. Carroll received his BS from East Carolina University in 1969 and retired from the NC Department of Corrections in 2007 after 38 years of service. An avid dog lover, he always enjoyed spending time with the family pets, Rocket, Dodge and Tora.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Joan Mize; daughter, Katherine C. Raynor and her husband, Brian; son, Russell Carroll; grandchildren, Faith Raynor and Ayden Raynor; nephew, Grayson Carroll. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” Carroll.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 2:00pm at Pinecrest Memorial Park with the family receiving friends following the service.
Due to COVID-19 face coverings are required during the graveside service as well as observing current social distancing guidelines as recommended by the CDC.
