Thomas Barry Hinton

Mr. Thomas Barry Hinton, 79, of Estero, FL died Thursday, July 9, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Garner, NC. He was born May 25, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Thomas and Mae Barry Hinton. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Norris.

Mr. Hinton was a US Army veteran. He retired from Mentor School System in Ohio and worked for Fountain Lakes Community in maintenance in Estero, FL for 21 years. He was an avid runner and officiated many sports. He was also a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Florida.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 17, 2015 at 4:00 P.M. at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, NC. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. at the funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Berta Hinton, a son, Todd Hinton and wife Laurie of Garner, NC two daughters, Connie Regan of Four Oaks, NC and Crystal Lamarre and husband James of Garner, NC, a sister, Suzanne Kahn of Mineral Bluff, GA, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, NC and online condolences may be directed to the family at www.mclaurinatpinecrest.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the hospice organization of one’s choice.
