On February 10, 2024, we lost our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Wayne Joder to Cholangiocarcinoma, also known as bile duct cancer. Wayne fought this cancer with such strength for almost a year.
Wayne was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Charles W. Joder and Pauline (McMichael) Joder. He graduated from Snider High School. He later enlisted in the US Marine Corp and received multiple honors while serving in Vietnam. He returned to Fort Wayne after his service and married the love of his life Lois (Mosier). They had three children, Jason (Meredith) Joder, Vincent (Evangeline) Joder, and Amanda (Mike) Duncan. His children and seven grandchildren were the light of his life. He also enjoyed coaching a co-ed softball team for his children. He was also a volunteer firefighter.
He graduated with honors earning his master’s degree, while working for Dana Corp for 47 years. He was incredibly passionate about his work as a Global Engineer, where he traveled to several plants worldwide. He was part of a team that helped facilitate patents for Dana in the automotive industry.
After retiring, Wayne always took the time to recognize and thank other veterans who helped protect our freedom.
Wayne will be laid to rest March 9, 2024, at the Pinecrest Memorial Park Mausoleum in Clayton, North Carolina. In celebration of his life and to honor his memory, the family is asking for donations to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation listed below in lieu of flowers.
