William “Bill” Jerome Bass September 15, 1948 – June 14, 2014 Clayton – William Jerome Bass, age 65, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Rex Hospital. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Reverend Ross Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Bass was a native of Wake County and the son of the late Issac William “Bill” Bass and the late Ruth Jerome Bass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Elijah L. Yates. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis House Bass; four children, Monica Bass Richardson, Heather N. Baker (Gilbert), Jonathan N. Monroe (Candace) and Stephanie C. Denton (Christopher); eleven grandchildren, Nikia P. Allen, Whitney S. Bass, Jasmine S. Bass, Phillip W. Bass, Jennifer B. Weaver, Faith G. Baker, David E. Baker, Valerie L. Monroe, Jarrett N. Monroe, Hayden L. Denton and Hayleigh M. Denton; and seven great grandchildren, Malachi C. Yates, Jailey L. Yates, Kayleigh A. Yates, Jamie L. Baker, Peyton N. Weaver, Heavenly S. Allen and Zion D. Allen. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2014 prior to the service at the funeral home.
