

Born on January 10, 1936, he was the son of Frank W. and Anna B. (Louther) Marnati in the family home in Brockway, the seventh child of 10 children.
Donald had a varied career beginning as a laborer for the gas line through Quehanna, PA, serving his country in the United States Marine Corp, worked as heavy equipment operator on various projects including original construction of I80, and the building the Blanchard Dam in Howard, PA. He also worked as a dragline operator for Minns Coal, Blue C Coal, Johnson & Morgan, and K & J Coal, and then as a Class A tractor trailer driver.
Donald retired at the age of 62 from Butler Trucking. Upon retirement, he worked for 15 years as a Fullington School Bus Driver for the Clearfield School District.
He was a life member of the NRA, a member of the Operating Engineers Union, American Legion Post 6, Old Town Sportsman Club of Clearfield and Gold Wing Road Riders Assoc.
Donald enjoyed visiting The Dutch Pantry, Clearfield for their great food and wonderful employees, and spending winters in Florida. He also loved camping and traveling with his second wife, the former Virginia M, (Veihdeffer) Cross, all over the US on his motorcycle.
At age 21, he wed his first wife, the former Dawn Wingard and raised a family who survives, children, Robin Bartges (Ray), McVeytown, PA, Charles and Kenneth Marnati, both of Gumboro, DE, Kimberly Gross (Todd) of York, PA, and stepdaughter Michelle Kelly who he helped raise from infancy; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Donald is also survived by his sisters, Deanna Starr and Sally Ann Crawford (Terry), all of Brockway, PA, and Margaret Buffone-Burke (Jack) of FL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Dawn (Wingard), second wife, Virginia M. (Veihdeffer) Cross, infant sister, Alona Marnati, sisters Virginia Reich, Geraldine Snyder, Emma Lou Harbridge; and brothers, Bill and Frank Marnati, Jr.
A Prayer Service will be held at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, February 19 at 4 p.m. with Msgr. Charles Kaza officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Clearfield Honor Guard at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of services at 4 p.m.
