Mr. McLaughlin was born May 25, 1965 in Clearfield, the son of Irvin and Mary (Smeal) McLaughlin.
He was a member of the Centre Grove United Methodist Church.
Douglas loved growing a garden, playing his guitars and working on vehicles.
He is survived by a son and daughter; Shannon L. Swoope of Fredericksburg, VA and Jessica D. McLaughlin of Curwensville, six grandchildren; Jonathan Thomas, Justen Crutchfeld, Jayden McLaughlin, Ajah Rose, Nathan Blair and Joshua Swoope, a brother, Scotty McLaughlin of Clearfield and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Albert, Ernie and Eddie McLaughlin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.
