Harold E. "Ted" Holt

He was born July 6, 1929 in Karthaus, PA ; son of the late James E. and Nancy (Fye) Holt.

Mr. Holt was a coal miner, worked at Howe’s Leather Co. in Curwensville, and a dozer operator on the strip mines at JC Owens until his retirement in 1993.

He was a member of the Living Hope Apostolic Church in Clearfield. He was a member of the Curwensville Moose Lodge, and Susquehanna Community Grange #268.

Mr. Holt enjoyed growing tomatoes, bird watching, cutting wood, dozer work, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include: wife of 66 years, Stella Holt, whom he married on January 3, 1949; children: Gerald (Linda) Holt of Eldersburg, MD, Linda Greene, and companion, Jim of Munson, PA, Teddy James (JoAnn) Holt of Grampian, Gary Holt, and companion Dale, of Clearfield, William Holt, and Timothy (Dawn) Holt, all of Clearfield; Step-son, David Kramer of Glen Richey; eleven grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) Totin of NJ, Lora Holt of Guam, Rebecca Greene, Robert Greene and Richard Greene of Munson, Sheila Smith and her husband Rob of Olanta, T.J. Holt and wife Jennifer of Grampian, B.J. Luzier and husband Randy of Olanta, Christy Brown and husband Travis of Olanta, Timothy Holt Jr., and Miranda Maines of Washington, PA; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Loretta Vincent of Lockport, NY; brothers, Glenn Kenneth Holt, and Lester Holt of Clearfield; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Gerald Thomas Holt, Robert Holt, Ethel Evans, June Selner, Violet Eadie, Beryl Wisor, Jane Clark; and Infants, Billy, Eva, and Baby Holt.

Funeral Services will be at Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 on 1:00 p.m. with T.J. Holt officiating.

Friends and family are invited to the funeral home on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services.

Interment will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery.
