

He was born in Clearfield, PA on May 9, 1933, the son of Joseph S. and Irene E. (Freeman) Marsh, Sr.
Mr. Marsh in 1981 retired from Harbison-Walker Refractories and at one time had worked at Robinson Clay Plant and as an officer on the Clearfield Borough Police Department.
He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Clearfield.
Mr. Marsh was veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Aerie #812 Fraternal Order of the Eagles, John Lewis Shade Post #6 of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the Clearfield Fire Company #1.
He is survived by his wife Helen M. (Graham) Marsh who he married on October 27, 1956, two children; Kimberly Jean (Marsh) Rowles and her husband Larry of Clearfield and Joseph Lewis Marsh and his wife Kimberly of Woodland, three grandchildren; Ryan Joseph Rowles, Matthew Arden Rowles, Ciara Nicole Marsh, four sisters; Doris Mullen of Clearfield, Jean Billotte and her husband Donald of Clearfield, Nancy Long and her husband Byron of Clearfield and Gale Kruse and her husband John of DuBois.
Mr. Marsh was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Evelyn Collins and Mildred Miller.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Rev. Rodger J. Gorton officiating. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. and on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the services.
Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the VFW Post #1785 Honor Guard.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 1010 Dorey Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
