

She was born on September 2, 1942 in Clearfield, the daughter of Emerson and Ethel (Coon) Amon.
Joyce graduated from Clearfield Area High School, Class of ’59. On September 2, 1961 she wed her husband David L. Michaels in the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, known today as The Church of Christ in Clearfield. The couple celebrated 61 years of marriage.
She acquired her real estate license and worked for Burleigh Realtors, retiring after 15 years as a realtor.
Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, but most important to her was her faith and love for her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. She told everyone she could about the love of Jesus and how He was the only way to get to heaven. Joyce attended the Clearfield Christian & Missionary Alliance Church and Shawville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, planting tomatoes, and traveling overseas.
She is survived by her husband, three children, Lori Beth Michaels, Enola, PA, David (Janice) Michaels, II, Dillsburg, PA, and Doug Michaels, Clearfield, one grandson, Stephen (Lexie) Michaels, Jacksonville, NC, niece Barbara (David) Hunter, Turbotville, PA, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved grand-pets, Sydney, Ruger, Luna, and Tater.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Amon and an infant sister.
Friends will be received at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., 312 E. Locust St., Clearfield, on Friday, April 8 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be private.
