Lillian A "Gussie" Shugarts

Ms. Shugarts was born October 16, 1927 in Clearfield, the daughter of Philip and Mae (Milliron) Garito.

She had worked as a waitress most of her life at various places, including the Dimeling Hotel.

Ms. Shugarts was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, Eagles and Moose Auxiliary.

She is survived by four children; Joanne M. Anderson of Clearfield, Robert P. Shugarts and his wife Marlene of New Millport, John E. Shugarts of Clearfield and Joyce A. Mays and her husband William, of Glen Richey, ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, three sisters; Mary Shaw, Louise Murray and Jeannette Ogden and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ms. Shugarts was preceded in death by her parents, three sons; William F. Shugarts, Jr., Thomas J. and Larry J. Shugarts, a grandson, Robert Shugarts, Jr., and two brothers; Dominic and James Garito.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
