Mabel Marie Maines

Born December 7, 1926 in Brockway, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Aldean (Hildebrandt) McCartney.

Mrs. Maines was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Clearfield. She was a graduate of the St. Francis School in 1946. Mabel volunteered at both St. Francis School and the Marian House. She was a member of the Rosary and Alter Societies at St. Francis Church and enjoyed reading.

Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 sons and 3 daughters: Greg L. Maines and his wife Patricia, Holiday, FL; Sandra M. Griffin and her husband Phil, Greenwood, SC; Robert M. Maines, Delaware, OH; Nancy K. Hathaway and her husband Dr. Joe Hathaway, FL; Amy M. Krchnak and her husband Mark, Clearfield; 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; extended family Jim and Jeanie Jacobs and family; 1 sister: Mary Catherine Thompson, NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, I son: William Paul Maines; 4 brothers: John, Tom, Ken and Paul McCartney.

A funeral mass will be celebrated for Mabel M. Maines at 10:00 AM Friday, May 17, 2013 at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee as Celebrant. A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, 312 E Locust Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 where a Vigal will be held at 3:45 PM and on Friday from 9:00 -9:30 AM for Procession to the church for Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mabel M. Maines to the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
