Born May 28, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine (Fuller) Butler. She was born in Salamanca, NY, but grew up in Punxsutawney before moving to Clearfield.

Mrs. Leap was a dedicated homemaker who was the central figure of the family. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and to the house where they lived. She will also be remembered for her love of baking and how she shared it not only with her family but with her church and community. In addition, she loved to read and garden and spend time playing cards and board games.

She was very creative and excelled in painting, coloring, and embroidery. She was an animal lover and loved her Shelties! The West Side United Methodist Church was very dear to her, as she attended for over 50 years. She was active in the choir, vacation bible school, Kitchen of Care, and involved with the church dinners, where she was known as the “biscuit queen.”

She is survived by four children, Jeffrey Leap and wife Sally, William Leap and wife Linda, Lou Ann Lora-Platt, and Suzanne Morrison; six grandchildren, Joseph Morrison and partner Hailey M., Benjamin Morrison and wife Taylor, Megan Morrison, Elizabeth Lee, Sarah Morrison, and Richard Morrison; and two great grandchildren Gracelyn and Haivyn Morrison.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her six siblings and by her husband Leonard E. Leap on April 15, 2009, who she wed on October 5, 1957.

Funeral Services will be held at the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 11 AM with Pastor Steve Cowfer officiating. Burial will be in the Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.

Friends and Family will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 4-7 PM and at the church on Thursday from 10-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to West Side United Methodist Church, 317 Nichols Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
