
Mrs. McKinn was born on February 19, 1918 in Woodland, the daughter of Richard C. and Beulah (Davis) Anderson.
She had worked for 15 years as a Librarian for the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, prior to that she had worked at the Clearfield Hospital Snack Bar.
Mrs. McKinn was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, and sang in the choir, she held various offices in the Willing Workers Class. She had volunteered for the YMCA, Clearfield Senior Center, and in the “Young at Hearts” Square Dancing Group, and Founder along with her husband of the Keenage Kitchen Combo Band, worked as Judge of Elections, Past Girl Scout Leader and served on PTA Council, and attended Senior Olympic Games.
She is survived by three daughters: Judy Turner and her husband Ronald of Olanta, PA, Donna Test and her husband George of Berlin, Maryland, Sharon Newpher of McCungie, PA, six grandchildren: Diane Tyrrell, Earle Test, Kimberly Klucsarits, Craig Turner, Kristy Turner, Thomas Newpher, eleven great grandchildren, two sisters: Norma Grindell of Lexington Park, Maryland, Janet King of Austin, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McKinn is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Lavinn A. “Ben” McKinn who she married October 28, 1938 and who died on April 29, 1995 and five brothers: Clair, Walter, Richard, George, Howard Anderson, three sisters: Eunice Caldwell, Larue Ogden and Betty Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Pastoral Leader Sallie Swenson officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 6-9 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the services.
