Walter P. Thorp IV

Mr. Thorp was born on August 11, 1977 in Clearfield, PA, the son of Dr. Walter P. Thorp III and Eileen (Murray) Thorp of Clearfield.

He attended the Clearfield Christian and Missionary Alliance School and was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School. He also attended Edison College of Fort Myers, Fl. and Penn State.

He was an avid fisherman and had a special affinity for all animals.

He is survived by his parents, a brother, Jeffrey L. and his wife Susan (Catalano) Thorp, two nephews; Nicholas and Nathaniel, an aunt, Mrs. Jeanne Wallace and her husband Steven, two uncles; Thomas Murray and his wife Janet and John Murray and his wife Nancy and five cousins; Sara, Alisa, Jason, Valerie and Zachary Murray.

Mr. Thorp was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Walter P. Thorp, II and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Murray.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Timothy E. Durant officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 7:00-9:00 PM and on Saturday, January 15th from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the services.
