Where do we begin? Well, on behalf of all the grandchildren blessed enough to have had a grandfather of his stature, we would like to just say thank you.

Thank you for being so selfless and willing under any circumstance. Whether it’s a last minute ride home from school, a trip to the Blue Angels air show, or just a simple night playing cards or board games, Ito showed us what it meant to be present and dedicated without obligation.

Thank you for being an outstanding father to Diana, Juan Carlos, and Alvaro Jr. Without your guidance and constant will to provide endless experiences for them, they would not have been able to do the same for their own children. Your constant will to serve and attend has taught them how to be present and selfless for our own sake.

We admire your passion to take on life by the horns and not let age ever hold you back. Ito was very much 82 going on 60! His passion for travel and youthful ambition to live life at its’ fullest inspires all of us to never settle or let physical barriers hold us back.

Thank you for your charismatic energy and positive belief in every one of us. Without you, none of us would be the individuals we are today. During this difficult time, we have learned immensely about our own personal lives as well as taking appreciation for those around us. We move forward living our lives as free and as spontaneous as you did. Everything we do moving forward will be constantly be guided and supported by Ito, like he always did.

So, today, let us celebrate the life of a man that has taught us lessons through actions. Actions much more impactful than words could ever provide. Thank you for everything Viejito, we have some big shoes to fill!
