

Betty Wheeler, 89, of Clearwater, passed away on July 7, 2016 at home surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice of the Fla Suncoast Bronze team. Betty was born June 22, 1927 in Rushville, Il to Rev. Edward H McKee and Martina DeFord Kennedy McKee. Betty was the 2nd born of 9 children. Betty is proceeded in death by her loving husband Lyman Bud Wheeler, her parents, 3 sisters (Wanda, Janet, Sandy) 4 brothers (Hubert, Richard, Robert, Ron) and son in-law Bob Jacobsgaard. Betty is survived in death by 4 daughters Cindy Prais (Tom), Liana Kiki Schmit(Charlie), Colleen Ivey and Betty BeeGee Wright (Dennis). She is also survived by her brother, Harold Mckee (Ann), Grandchildren Bryan Dallas (Hillary), Jamy Jacobsgaard (Susan), Jason Gardner (Karen), Tasha, Tiffany, Joshua and Jordan Prais. Jerry Ivey (Crystal) and Carissa Mencer, Matthew and Michael Wright . Great Grand children; Nicholas, Maddie, Chloe, Rachel, Nicolai, Seth, Chance and soon to join the family baby Lincoln . Brother In-laws, Don Wheeler and Ron Metzka and sister in-law Marylou Wheeler Haynes. Family was everything to Betty, she was a hair dresser until her first grandson was born then she became a Grandma with pride. Betty enjoyed a gathering of any kind, it didn’t have to be a special occasion or holiday. Just come over for a visit. She opened her home to anyone, there are many people that considered her a second mom. Betty was an avid sports fan of the Chicago teams, as an honor to Betty if you are planning to attend her service we ask you to consider wearing your favorite sports team attire. There will be a viewing on Tuesday July 19, 2016 at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home Clearwater from 11-2 and 5-7:30. Please remember to consider wearing your favorite sports team attire. The funeral service will be held at Sylvan Abbey Clearwater on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at 10:30 AM with final entombment immediately following in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. Per her request there will be a celebration of her life at the home of Charlie and Kiki Schmitt and 912 Mark Drive, Clearwater Fl 33756 all are invited. In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to “The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast” in her honor.
